What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Related technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. We use the word “cookies” throughout this page to cover all of them.
Your choice
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations we may only set cookies that are not strictly necessary once you have agreed to them. When you first visit, a banner asks for that agreement, and nothing optional runs until you give it.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Manage cookies link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
What we use, and why
| Type | What it does | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembers your shopping bag between pages, carries you securely through checkout, keeps you signed in, and records the cookie choice you made so we do not ask again. | Not required — the shop cannot work without these |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages are used, so we can improve the shop. We look at this in aggregate, not to identify you personally. | Only with your consent |
| Marketing | Measures whether an advert led to a visit or an order, and may be used to show you relevant advertising elsewhere. | Only with your consent |
| Preferences | Remembers choices you have made, so the site behaves as you left it. | Only with your consent |
Cookies set by others
Our payment provider sets its own cookies during checkout to process your payment securely and detect fraud; these are strictly necessary for paying. Where you have accepted analytics or marketing cookies, those providers may also set cookies of their own. They are responsible for those cookies under their own privacy notices.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, and block new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the shopping bag and checkout from working, so parts of the shop will not function.
How this relates to your data
Where a cookie involves personal information, our Privacy Policy explains what we do with it, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it.
Changes and contact
If we start using cookies for a new purpose we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again. Questions are welcome at our contact page.
